Grants to Individuals

Post graduate students

Picture of degree studentThe Foundation's main aim is to support young people to achieve their initial qualifications. Therefore, we are only able to make grants to students who are studying for a post graduate qualification that is essential for a career within their chosen field. For example, people wanting to become a barrister must complete the Bar Vocational Course in order to practice.

If you are studying at a post graduate level and want to make an application you will need to provide the following additional information:

a short personal statement explaining why the qualification is essential

AND

evidence from the appropriate professional body confirming that the qualification is necessary to practice in the chosen field.  For example, a print out of the Law Society webpage showing the qualifications required to practice as a solicitor

AND

• evidence that you have already secured the majority of funding that you require to successfully complete the course.  Please also indicate whether you have taken out a Career Development Loan and if not why not

If you would like to make an application for funding, please download the form here.

Please note that we will be unable to process your application until this additional information is received in support of your application.
