How to apply

If you have a project that needs funding (and you have checked it fits with our priorities) we would like to hear from you. Your work could change lives. And our funding could make it happen.

Application procedure

Raising Literacy and Numeracy Standards for early years and primary school students

  1. To request support under this category, you can apply at any time.
  2. The Chairman and the Clerk will review your application. We might ask for extra information. If your application is suitable, we will arrange a meeting to discuss your project in more detail.
  3. After we’ve met, the Foundation’s Strategy Committee will discuss your application.
  4. The Strategy Committee will make a recommendation about your project to the Board of Governors. The board meets quarterly, usually within a few weeks of the Strategy Committee meeting.
  5. You will receive a response within 2 weeks of the Board meeting.

Progression into Work

To apply for a grant under our Progression into Work priorities, you must apply by the following deadlines:

'Earn while you Learn' Grants Programme:

Monday, 13th November 2017

Careers Education and Guidance Grants Programme:

Monday, 18th December 2017.

  1. Download the appropriate file below to read our more detailed guidelines and funding criteria for these programmes.
  2. If you meet these priorities, you can apply for a grant by filling in our 1st-stage application form.
  3. Follow the instructions on the form to find out what to include and how to send it back to us.
  4. Your application will be assessed against our criteria. We might ask for extra information at this stage.
  5. All applications received will then be reviewed by our Progression into Work panel, including the Clerk, a trustee and a specialist advisor.
  6. The strongest proposals will be progressed to the 2nd-stage of our process and applicants invited to submit more detailed plans. The deadlines for this stage will be as follows:

    'Earn while you Learn' Grants Programme:
    22nd December 2017

    Careers Education and Guidance Programme:
    2nd February 2018

  7. You may be invited to a meeting to discuss your proposal with our Progression into Work panel.
  8. The Progression into Work panel will make a recommendation about your proposal and grant request to the Foundation's Startegy Committee.
  9. Final grant decisions will then be made by the Board of Governors.
  10. We aim to confirm all grant decisions by the end of March 2018 and finalise grant agreements with the successful applicants by the end of April.
